cognitive development

Let's say this word  < COGNITIVE > and spell it.

We use the mind to think, solve problems, learn, discover, invent, create, make decisions.

It is because of Cognitive Needs that the mind has to be used constantly. Does all this remind us of the word "ready"?   We have been using "clever" to describe how we want our children to become.  The word "clever" reminds us of "a person who learns quickly" and "good grades." This has to do with how well children excel in school. People sometimes describe a smart person as having "a good head."

Cognitive needs begin at birth. From the moment the child enters this world, there is a continuous need to learn about the world around him, the people around him and how he can control what happens to him.

They are trying to satisfy their cognitive needs.

How and to what degree cognitive needs are met when a child is very young will greatly influence his or her performance in school.
